    Last week, Brittney Griner delivered a punch that was heard around the world. The problem is Griner isn't a boxer. She is a freshman on the No. 14 Baylor women's basketball team and her punch came during a game against Texas Tech.

    It was a short day for Moore. In their 15-1 season opening victory over Putnam City Tuesday, the Lions needed only three innings of work to rack up 15 runs, 14 hits, nine doubles and two homers.
    It's the type of statement the MHS slowpitch team likes to make when they start a season.

    Westmoore ended the 2009 slowpitch season one step away from playing for a state championship. However, that isn't good enough for a program that has grown accustomed to playing for the biggest prize.

    The prep slowpitch season kicked of fast for Southmoore last week. They started with win over Norman North Thursday in the season opener.
    "I thought that after the first couple of innings that we settled down and played like we are capable of," Southmoore coach Jason Lingo said.

    MIDWEST CITY -- Embarrassing. That was the one word Southmoore coach Wes Brown used over and over to describe his team's performance Saturday after they were throttled 67-31 by Midwest City in the Regional Championship.
