The Moore American
In a fairly routine meeting Monday morning, Cleveland County Commissioners tabled bids for highway and bridge materials, read the jail report from Capt. Ed Miller and voted to not impose a burn ban on the county.
There was an average of 215 inmates in the county detention center March 17-24. Book-ins for the week were 180 up from 154 the same week in 2007. Forty of the book-ins were from out of the county.
In his report, Miller wrote that one inmate was assigned to the work release program, 14 were out on ankle monitors and 10 were transported to the Oklahoma Department of Corrections.
He also reported 65 inmates were held on misdemeanor charges, 213 on felony and 72 were holed on municipal charges. Five of the inmates were juveniles and 69 were here for holds.
Commissioners approved payments of $53,024 to Pottawatomie County Public Safety Center Trust for the housing of inmates for November and December, 2008 and January.

• Renewed the annual maintenance agreement with Central Business Machines and Systems and the treasurer for validators for $1,955.
• Approved the allocation of alcoholic beverage tax in the amount of $20,572.33.
• Declared several vehicles of District 2 surplus and auctioned.
• Approved the transfer of two police vehicles to the Sequoyah County Sheriff’s Department.
• Approved the transfer of two police vehicles to the Wagoner County Sheriff’s Department.
The Cleveland County Justice Authority met and tabled an amendment to the architect’s contract for another week and approved payments to SMC Consulting Engineers, P.C. for $26,498.14, $510,877.76 to AIP Architects in Partnership and $555 for attorney consultations, all for the new detention center.
