Three face Terrill in HD 53 race

Two Democrats and one Republican have have announced they plan to challenge incumbent Republican Randy Terrill for the House District 53 seat.
Charles M. Barnes, 23, a Democrat from Moore, has filed as a candidate for the seat along with fellow Democrat Troy Green, and Norman Republican Curtis Bruehl.
Barnes said his goal is to “elect a businessman” and added he wants to bring “fresh ideas from a businessman’s point of view.” He is the Education Director of Barnes Real Estate School in Moore.
Barnes has been in the real estate industry and held his real estate license since the age of 18.
Green, 64, ran against Rep. Randy Terrill two years ago.
Green, a retired Tinker Air Force Base mechanic, said he would expand the career tech system, pay teachers a “reasonable” wage and increase funding to the teachers' retirement system.
Bruehl, 31, an attorney in Oklahoma City, could not be reached for comment.
Terrill, a Republican has served in office since 2004.
